Matt Devost

Matt Devost is a noted technologist, entrepreneur, and international security expert with over 25 years of experience specializing in cybersecurity, counterterrorism, critical infrastructure protection, intelligence and risk management issues. As an entrepreneur, speaker, and author, Matt provides a broad range of business acumen and cybersecurity expertise.
As a founder of global cybersecurity consultancy FusionX, he served as President & CEO, helping an international clientele identify and manage dynamic threats in complex operational environments before being acquired by Accenture in 2015. There, he worked as Managing Director, where he led and grew the Global Cyber Defense practice. Matt was also a founding employee and Director of Intelligence Analysis for iDefense, operated as COO for iSIGHT Partners, a global risk identification and mitigation company, and was the founder of the Terrorism Research Center, Inc. (TRC), where he functioned as President and CEO. For 14 years, Matt was also an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University where he taught the flagship graduate course “Information Warfare and Security,” and was appointed as a special government advisor to counsel the U.S. Department of Defense leadership on a variety of issues from 2010-2013.
Matt is on the Advisory Board for the Washington, D.C.-based non-profit MissionLink, which has helped over 100 early stage companies identify mission and market requirements, is a mentor at the Virginia cybersecurity accelerator Mach37, and serves on the Black Hat advisory board, helping to shape the agenda for a series of world-class information security conferences.
