A former PwC partner, Debbie Simpson retired in June 2021 from her role as Chief Financial Officer and Head of Functions for BCG. Debbie, a champion of Digital Ventures at BCG, aspires to impact business in the future through Board and advisory roles, leveraging her finance, digital, and international skill-set to help a diverse set of purpose-driven private and public companies, while also serving the Board of Plan USA, a girls rights and development organization.
At BCG, Debbie was CFO for 12 years, and Head of Functions for 8 years, and served as a core member of the firm’s Executive Committee, Operating Committee, and Audit and Risk Committees, as well as other management and oversight teams. Debbie joined BCG as a partner in 2001 (from PwC), to assist the firm in its global expansion, as well as oversee its expert finance functions and HR operations (including compensation, benefits and mobility), before becoming CFO in 2007. Debbie helped manage BCG through the 2008-2009 financial crisis and subsequent years of high growth, as BCG tripled in size over her tenure, and deepened its global footprint, with more than 20,000 partners and staff located in 90+ cities in more than 50 countries today.
During the last five years at BCG, as BCG invested in new business models and Digital businesses, Debbie played a critical role in developing those operating models, supporting investments, and working with the firm’s partners to expand and integrate new capabilities into its client offerings.
Since retirement from BCG, Debbie has begun to quickly grow her Board experience. Beyond five years experience sitting on the Board of BCG’s Digital Ventures unit, Debbie is also on the Board of Trax Retail, a $170m revenue leader in digitizing the retail shelf, and serves as Board Chair for Formation, a start-up company in the personalization space. Debbie is also advising Digital Ventures, BCG, two funds, and vorteXplore. VorteXplore is taking a new approach to employee listening. Erik brings almost 20 years of experience founding, leading and growing consulting companies. He has a consistent track record of assembling world class leadership teams, serving high profile clients and scaling businesses. Erik is very passionate that CrossCountry’s employees and clients get a “better experience.”
Previously, Erik served as Managing Director and Practice Leader for Navigant Consulting (now Guidehouse) Finance and Accounting Solutions practice, which he co-led with Dave Kay. There, he was responsible for leading the company’s strategic planning and market positioning, acquisition investment strategy and integration, and business development activities related to the financial services industry. Additionally, Erik served on Navigant’s Management Committee where he advised executive leadership on strategic and operational issues facing the firm.
Prior to joining Navigant, Erik was founder and CEO of Capital Advisory Services, LLC. He led CapAdvisory through five years of tremendous growth before selling his firm to Navigant in 2004.
Erik began his career at Arthur Andersen in the firm’s Audit and Business Advisory division. He received a BBA in Accounting from James Madison University.
Dave brings a wealth of business and technical knowledge to CrossCountry and its clients from his 30 year career; spanning roles in public accounting, finance function consulting, as an executive level CFO in public companies, and as a board and audit committee member on several public company boards.
Dave’s career includes over 22 years with Arthur Andersen, where he held management roles as the Managing Partner of the Pittsburgh office (1997 to 1999) and Managing Partner of the Mid-Atlantic Assurance and Risk Management practices (1999 to 2002). In 2002, he served as Chief Financial Officer of J.E. Robert Companies, a $5 billion real estate opportunity fund manager. Dave joined Navigant Consulting (now Guidehouse) to co-lead the firm’s Finance and Accounting Solutions practice with Erik. Following that, he became the Chief Financial Officer of MuniMae, a diversified real estate company.
Dave served on the following public company boards: Chevy Chase Bank, Saul Centers REIT and Capital Automotive REIT.
