Laura Adams to lead the expansion across the national aerospace, defense, and government contracting industry

MCLEAN, VA, May 16, 2024 — CrossCountry Consulting, a leading business advisory firm, today announced that Laura Adams has been appointed Partner in the Accounting Advisory practice as the national Government Contracting Industry Lead to support clients in the aerospace, defense, and government contracting industries. Based in Washington, D.C., she will also play an instrumental role in the strategy, operations, and growth of the business in that market.

Adams has close to 30 years of industry and professional services experience with complex accounting and financial transactions that have yielded significant value creation for companies serving the U.S. federal government and its agencies. She has significant expertise across technical accounting, risk and compliance, and reporting requirements facing public companies and government contractors, including initial public offerings, debt refinancings, corporate tax strategies, and acquisitions and divestitures. Her broad knowledge in finance and business will bring new depth to CrossCountry’s industry capabilities and will accelerate the growth of its national client base.

“Complying with government contracts while still prioritizing operational efficiency can be a difficult balance for finance, risk, and security executives. Laura’s deep experience working in multiple functions across the Office of the CFO translates to valuable perspectives and a unique ability to serve our current and future clients in the government contracting industry,” said Erik Linn, Co-Founder and Managing Partner at CrossCountry Consulting. “Her exemplary career and deep knowledge of the broader government landscape will be a tremendous asset to the firm, and we are thrilled to welcome her to the team.”

“Government contractors serving the U.S. federal government and its agencies are constantly required to comply with numerous accounting, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements, some of which are highly complex. They are endlessly searching for in-depth knowledge, expertise, and practical solutions delivered in the most effective, efficient, and innovative ways and at the highest level of quality,” said Adams. “I’m looking forward to working with my colleagues at CrossCountry to expand our team at a greater scale and build on our strong foundation of integrated service offerings to deliver value to our government contracting clients.”

Prior to joining CrossCountry, Adams spent 15 years at Booz Allen Hamilton serving in a variety of finance and leadership roles including Chief Accounting Officer, and most recently, Senior Vice President and Treasurer. Additionally, Adams spent 14 years at EY in the Audit and Assurance Practice serving large and public and private companies across the government contracting sector.
